Something I always do is visualize song lyrics in my head as drawings or animations... Unfortunately my animation skills are brutally limited as it is my attention span to make a comic of any significant lenght.
So when I saw the opportunity to approach this idea I took it, after repeatedly hearing this short, yet beautiful and touching song.
The messege is simple: If we look deep enough within ourselves and what we could really do for others that need your us, you'll see you we are as much an asshole as the Oak Tree.

Also it was a nice opportunity to practice drawing things of subtle beauty instead of the badass and the awesome and the cute that are so overdone lately.
Also all my comics (the ones I post in Spanish in facebook for my friends) are comedy.

Sparrows need love too!

Many people hate them and want to chase them from bird feeders and birdhouses, like they were pests.

Depending on where you are, some sparrow species are an invasive species and push out/compete native birds. For example, European House Sparrows have been found to cause the decline in native blue birds in the USA. They have actually been known to go into blue bird nests and destroy bluebird eggs and nestlings because they want competition. They will even attack the adult blue birds and kill them. So yeah, they might look like a cute bird but they are highly territorial and aggressive to any other birds.

Weird, I've seen them fight in little skirmishes with each other, but never attacking other species.

It really depends on whether they are an invasive species or a native species to the area. In places where the sparrows are native species, then other local birds who are also native species will be able to compete with them and defend themselves because they would have evolved alone side each other.
